A Successful Emergency Reception Centre Open House

Residents from across our seven communities gathered at Malpeque Hall to celebrate the opening of the Rural Municipality of Malpeque Bay's new Emergency Reception Centre. The centre gives the community a safe, comfortable place to gather during storms and power outages, serving all seven communities from Baltic to Spring Valley. Upgrades include a backup generator, wheelchair-accessible entrances and washrooms, first aid and an AED, and a warm kitchen and device-charging area. Council thanks the volunteers of the Emergency Measures Organization and everyone who helped make the day a success.
